Craig Jones

Craig Jones, 47, is a long time student of the American West and the American Civil War. He is employed in bulk gas sales for Airgas Mid-South in Tulsa, OK and enjoys writing non-fiction articles and biographies in his spare time. Craig was raised in Jefferson City, MO where he studied journalism in high school. His love for history began at an early age while spending time with his Grandparents in Southwest Missouri. His Grandfather used to tell many stories of the Civil War that had been passed down through the family. Craig’s Great-Great Grandfather lived on the Butterfield Stagecoach Road, later known as the Old Wire Road, because the Union Army strung up telegraph lines during the Civil War. The tales told by his Grandfather of bushwackers and thieves captivated Craig as a child and the interest has stayed with him to this day. Craig has written biographical sketches for his family and his works have been published in the “History of Stone County, MO” and the “History of Phelps County, MO” as well as a biography of a Civil War ancestor in a Sons of Union Veterans publication. Craig is also the former editor of the “Buck and Ball” monthly newsletter for the Civil War Roundtable of the O zarks in the early 1990’s. He currently resides in Prairie Grove, AR with Laura, his wife of 8 years.
